Give assignments to students

After an assignment has been created, it will be stored in the Library. Students cannot access the assignment directly. The assignment needs to be distributed/assigned to them.

Note! An assignment must have the status "Active" before you can assign it to students. Want to know how this works? Check out the page on creating assignments.

  1. Go to the task you want to assign in the Library and click on the arrow next to the task for students.

  1. Choose between adding a Group or a Student to the task.

  1. You land on the screen below:

Assignment connections

  • Groups/Students: Here, you can choose the individual students you want to link to the assignment. If you have chosen groups, you will be able to select the groups you are a member of.
  • Start Date: Set the date when the assignment will become visible to the student. By default, this date is set to today. If this date is in the future, the assignment will only become visible to the student on that date.
  • Deadline: Set a deadline by which the assignment must be completed. Once the deadline is set, a new option will appear: "Allow submission after the deadline." This option lets you allow students to submit the assignment even after the deadline has passed.

Reviewers

  • Reviewers: Determine who will be the reviewers for the assignment. The reviewer(s) will receive notifications when the assignment is ready for evaluation. A connection must include at least one reviewer and has no maximum limit. Teachers can also evaluate assignments from the assignment overview or the review module.
    • Multiple reviewers can be selected per review group. If the reviewers are in the same group, they will receive the assignment for review simultaneously.
      • Indicate on the side how many reviewers should assess the assignment in the respective group.
    • Click on Add New Reviewer Group to link a new group of reviewers.
    • You can remove a group of reviewers using the trash bin icon.
    • The group can be moved to another group using the slider icon.
    • It is possible to assign both students and teachers as reviewers. If a student is assigned as a reviewer and it is their turn to review, a review module will appear for the student.

Settings

  • Determine order of reviewers: If this toggle is activated, the reviewers will follow a set order. In this case, Group 1, marked with a 1 in front of the top reviewer group, must review and meet the requirements before Group 2 can begin their review.
    • If this toggle is inactive, there is no set order for the reviewers. This means that everyone will receive the assignment in their review list simultaneously.
  • Reviews visible to other reviewers: If this toggle is activated, reviewers can view each other’s evaluations. This allows the reviewer in Group 2 to see the assessments made by other reviewers.
    • If this toggle is inactive, reviewers cannot see the evaluations of previous reviewers.

Sharing Assignment Link with Students

It is possible to share a direct link to the assignment with students. To do this, the assignment must first be linked to students, as described earlier. This link can be used in another application, allowing students to easily navigate from one application to Simulise. After opening the assignment, choose the link option. When you click the link button, the following page will open:

The URL that appears here is unique to the assignment. By clicking the copy icon on the right side, the URL is copied. This URL can then be shared with, for example, students.

If students or groups that the student belongs to are linked to the assignment, the student can access the assignment via the URL. If the student is not linked to the assignment, they will not be able to access it through the URL.
