What are labels
Administrators have the ability to create Labels. Labels enable advanced filtering within a module in the library or portfolio. Administrators can define in which modules specific labels can be used. Additionally, they can decide whether students are allowed to create labels themselves. To open the module:
- Navigate to the Management module.
- Select the Labels module.
The following screen will appear:
First, the categories will be displayed. A category contains various underlying labels, which can then be used within the modules specified.
- Use the toggles to indicate in which module the category and its underlying labels will be active.
- The toggle Students can create labels themselves allows students to create their own labels within this specific category in their portfolio.
- Using the blue square icon (on the right), you can make an entire category inactive.
We provide a default set of categories and labels with each environment. These labels can be edited and renamed as needed. Additionally, you can choose whether these labels are active or inactive.
If you are using locations, the categories and labels must be linked to a location before they can be utilized.

How Labels Work
When labels are linked to an assignment, lesson plan, rubric, template, or competency, it becomes possible to filter based on these labels. This allows users to quickly find the desired items in the library.
The same applies to a student's portfolio. If a student chooses to associate portfolio items with labels, both teachers and students can more easily locate specific items in the portfolio.
For example, if a student organizes all their evidence under a specific label, you can simply search using that filter to view all relevant evidence. TIP: Link labels to an assignment. Portfolio items submitted for the assignment will automatically inherit these labels.
