My workgroups - Teacher
A workgroup can be formed by both students and teachers. In a workgroup, students can:
- Create a shared task list.
- Share information and files.
- Collaborate on portfolio items.
If you are added to a workgroup, you will receive a notification, and it will appear in your Groups module under My Workgroups, where you can either accept or decline the invitation.
Create workgroup
You will then be directed to the following page:
- Choose a name (and optionally an icon) for your workgroup.
- Add a short description of your workgroup so others know its purpose.
- Add others under Users by entering part of their name and selecting them.
- Add any metadata to your workgroup to make it easier to find.
- Ensure that the Privacy settings are configured correctly.
- In the privacy settings, you will find options that determine where the workgroup will be visible and whether the student/teacher can contribute to the workgroup.
Per environment, it can be determined who can create workgroups. This is managed by the administrator of your Simulise environment. Can't create workgroups? Ask the administrator to adjust the settings.
Delete a workgroup
The creator of the workgroup is by default the administrator of the workgroup. However, once the workgroup is open, by selecting the Members tab, the administrator can choose to remove users from the workgroup or assign them an administrator role.
A workgroup can only be deleted by the workgroup administrator. All members will receive a notification. The workgroup is not deleted immediately but remains available for 30 days before it is permanently deleted. This provides an opportunity for all group members to secure files and/or tasks.
Share files in the workgroup
Share tasks in a workgroup
You can work on joint and separate tasks within your workgroup so that everyone knows what to do. The tasks are on the To-do list.
Add task | Click Add to the To-do list.
|
Complete task | Put a checkmark 'Mark completed' in front of the Task. |
Renew task | Clicking on Mark as to do again for the task marks the task as incomplete again. |
Delete task | By clicking on the red cross behind the task, the task disappears for all workgroup members. |
Remove yourself from a workgroup
To remove yourself from a workgroup, open the workgroup and click Members. You will then see who the members and administrator of this group are. You can then choose to remove yourself by clicking Kick. Group admins can remove anyone. Members can only remove themselves.
