Content blocks on Page templates
Various elements can be added to a template to design the page. In this article, we explain how this works and what options are available.
Tip: For each element, you can specify in the settings whether students can modify the title of the element and/or add their own text. Additionally, you can provide an explanation of what you expect from the student.
Profile
The Profile element displays the student's profile on the page. This is useful if the page is printed.
Form
The Form element allows you to create input fields that can be filled out by a student. You can use this, for example, to have them answer (coaching) questions or to record personal information for a CV.
Optionlist
The Optionlist element allows you to provide options that students can select, which will then appear in a block on their page. They can also be given the option to make their own additions. You can use the choice list to, for example:
- Display the selection of extracurricular activities
- Highlight talents or subjects
- Identify areas for improvement
Text
In the Text element, students can write a text that is displayed on the page. They can also insert links and images. You can also use this element to include a fixed, pre-written text in the template. In this case, you should check the option "Student may not modify the text."
Recommendations
With the Recommendation element, teachers, mentors, peers, or external individuals can be asked to provide feedback or a recommendation. They can then write a piece of text on the student's page. You can specify whether students need to invite someone, or if all teachers who can see the student are allowed to write a recommendation. If you check the option "Fillable by all teachers," the mentor/teacher can always write something without needing a separate invitation.
File
The File element allows a space on the page where a student can upload a single (specific) file. You can choose which types are allowed, namely: image, video, document, or audio. If you do not specify this, a student can upload any type of file. Additionally, you can set a maximum height (useful if you want to print the page and ensure it fits on one page). You can also specify whether the student is allowed to add a caption. This is how the block will appear on the student's page:
Link
The Link element allows students to place a link to a website (e.g., YouTube) that will be displayed on the page.
Skills diagram
The Skills diagram element creates a space on the page where a student can view the results of skill assessments over a certain period. For example, by adding the competency diagram element twice, you can display a comparison of skill development across two periods on the page.
Portfolio item
The Portfolio Item element creates a space on the page where a student can display a piece from their work portfolio. The student does not need to upload the item again. Any feedback is visible to the viewer of the portfolio when they click on it (e.g., which badge has been earned).
List of portfolio items
The List of portfolio Items element creates a space on the page where a student can display multiple pieces from their work portfolio. Any feedback is visible to the viewer of the portfolio when they click on it (e.g., which badge has been earned).
Choice block
The Choice Block element creates a space on the page where a student can place either a piece of text or a file. They can choose what they want to do. You can also specify the type of file it should be:
