Setup goals
Goals provide the ability to measure quantitative data. Goals that are set become visible on both the student’s and teacher’s dashboard. These goals are visible to anyone viewing the dashboard.
To create a new goal, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Administation module.
- Select the Goals module.
- Click + New Goal.
If you don’t see the Goals module, it might be disabled. Go to Central Settings to enable the module.
Fill in the following details to set up a goal:
- Title: Provide a title for the goal. This will be visible to the role the goal is assigned to.
- Description: Add a description to clarify the goal. This will also be visible to the assigned role.
- For Role: Select the role to which the goal will be assigned. Options include Student or Teacher.
- Type: Choose one of the 8 available goal types:
- Number of days logged in.
- Number of comments on other users' blogs.
- Number of (public) blogs.
- Number of (public) status updates.
- Number of likes.
- Number of comments.
- Number of favorites.
- Replies to comments on personal blogs.
- Target: Set a numerical target for the selected goal type.
- Groups: Make the goal visible to the selected group(s).
- Start Date: Specify the date when the goal becomes active and visible on the dashboard.
- End Date: Set the date when the goal ends and is no longer achievable.
- Sorting Priority: If multiple goals are set, this determines the order in which they appear in the activity widget.
Click Save to finalize the setup. The created goal will now be visible in the module. To edit or adjust the goal, select the Edit option via the blue square icon.
