Collaborate on an assignment
A teacher can assign you a task through a workgroup, for example for a project or paper. This way, you and your group members can collaborate on a single assignment and complete it together.
Receiving an assignment
If you receive an assignment that you can complete on behalf of your workgroup, it will appear in your Assignments module. The assignment looks similar to a regular assignment but includes a few extra features specifically for workgroups.
Linking evidence to the assignment
When you choose + Select submission, you will see the following options:
- Choose from your portfolio: You will first see all portfolio items already linked to the workgroup. If there are none, you will see your personal portfolio items. Once you select an item, it is automatically shared with all group members.
- New text: Create a new portfolio item. It will immediately be linked to the entire workgroup.
- New file: Upload a file. It will be linked to the entire workgroup.
- New link: Add a link. It will be linked to the entire workgroup.
Everything is updated in real time: if someone adds or removes something, all group members can see it immediately.
Completing the rubric
The rubric (assessment criteria) is filled out on behalf of the entire workgroup. Once the assignment is submitted, your workgroup’s icon will appear next to the rubric.
Sending a reflection invitation
Just like with a regular assignment, you can send a reflection invitation. You can invite anyone, except your own workgroup members. The reflection applies to the entire group.
Feedback questions
The number of feedback questions allowed applies per person. For example: if 2 questions are permitted, each group member may ask 2 questions. Reviewers will receive a notification whenever a question is submitted.
Submitting the assignment
Submitting works the same way as with a regular assignment, but this time you submit on behalf of the entire workgroup. Reviewers will then be notified to assess your group’s work.
Assessment
The assessment applies to the entire workgroup. All group members therefore receive the same grade and the same feedback.
Added to a workgroup later – what now?
- If the assignment has already been submitted, you will no longer see it.
- If the assignment has not yet been submitted, you will still receive it and can fully participate with the group.
