Assignment Statuses

During the process of receiving and completing an assignment, several statuses can occur:

  • Not yet available: The assignment is not yet accessible for you to start. These could be assignments with a start date later than today or assignments that are part of a Lesson Plan.
  • Not started: The assignment has been made available to you, but you have not begun working on it yet.
  • Started: You have started the assignment. This status appears as soon as at least one submission piece is attached.
  • Hand in: You have previously submitted the assignment but chose to withdraw it, meaning it now needs to be resubmitted.
  • Resubmit: The assignment was submitted but has been returned to you by the reviewer using the "Return Assignment" option. It must be resubmitted.
  • Under review: You have submitted the assignment, and it is now awaiting assessment by the reviewer(s).
  • Deadline passed: The deadline set for the assignment has passed.
    • Depending on the assignment settings, the status could also be: Deadline passed, can still hand in.
  • Done: The assignment has been fully completed and assessed by the reviewer(s).

When opening your Assignments module, not all statuses are visible by default. Some statuses are filtered out automatically. The statuses that indicate an action is still required for the assignment are displayed.

Filtering and Searching in Assignments

During the school year, the Assignments module can become filled with various tasks and assignments you need to complete. To maintain a clear and organized overview, you can filter and search within the module. Additionally, the filtering system allows you to save filters. You can filter by the following criteria:

  • Without rubric: Assignments that do not have a rubric attached. These are typically assignments consisting only of submissions or reading descriptions.
  • Without lesson plans: Assignments that are not part of a lesson plan.
  • Show all locations: If your school uses locations, assignments can be linked to a specific location. Enabling this setting will show all assignments, even those not tied to your assigned location.
  • Status: Filter by any of the statuses mentioned earlier.
  • Competencies: Filter by the competencies you want to work on.
  • Reviewer(s): Search for assignments assigned to a specific teacher for assessment.
  • Lesson plan: Filter by a lesson plan to display all assignments associated with it.
  • Rubric: Search for assignments linked to a specific rubric by its name.
  • Labels: Schools can create and activate labels within the module. Active labels in the Assignments module will be visible and can be used as a filter.
