How does the plagiarism check work when submitting?

Some schools check submitted work for plagiarism. This is done with Turnitin. Your teacher decides per assignment whether a submission is checked.

What will you notice?

• You submit your work as usual. Read How do I submit an assignment?.
• Is a submission checked? Then this is shown in the assignment, below the submission.
• The first time, you may be asked to accept the Turnitin terms of use. This is needed before your file can be checked.

Good to know

Turnitin compares your file with other sources. Your teacher sees the result and discusses it with you if needed. Do you use texts written by others? Always include a reference to the source.
