Privacy-settings work and pages

When you save an item in your portfolio or create a page, you can set its privacy. This allows you to specify who is allowed to view the item or page.

The school determines which setting is checked by default here. You can always make a different choice.

Privacy-settings Work item

The privacy settings determine who can view your workitem. Depending on the settings being active for your school, the following options are available:

• Visible only to me (draft): The work is visible only to you. Anyone who navigates to your portfolio will not see this work.
• Visible to students and teachers in my groups / Visible to students and teachers in my school, and appear in my community timeline: The work will be visible for all users, but the item will not be posted in the community timeline.
• Visible to students and teachers in my groups / Visible to students and teachers in my school: The work will be visible for all user.
• Visible only to my teachers / Visible for teachers in my school: The work is visible to all teachers who are linked to a group that you are also in. Or the work is visible to all teachers in your school.
• Visible only to my reviewer(s): With this option, the page is only visible once it has been submitted as part of an assignment. At that point, only the reviewer(s) of that assignment will be able to view the page. Otherwise, the page remains private.
• Only visual for.. : Choose who you want to share the work with. You can select individual users or entire groups.

If you don’t want an item to appear in the Community, select this setting. With the other settings, the item will also appear in the Community, but only for users who match the privacy settings.

Privacy-settings pages

The privacy settings determine who can view your page. Depending on the settings being active for your school, the following options are available:

• Visible only to me (draft): The page is visible only to you. Anyone who navigates to your portfolio will not see this page.
• Visible only to my reviewer(s): With this option, the page is only visible once it has been submitted as part of an assignment. At that point, only the reviewer(s) of that assignment will be able to view the page. Otherwise, the page remains private.
• Visible to students and teachers in my groups / Visible to students and teachers in my school: The page is visible to all teachers and students who are in a group that you are also part of. If you are unsure who is in a group you belong to, navigate to the groups module and view the groups you are in. Or the page is visible to all teachers and students in your school.
• Visible only to my teachers / Visible for teachers in my school: The page is visible to all teachers who are linked to a group that you are also in. Or the page is visible to all teachers in your school.
• Only visual for.. : Choose who you want to share the page with. You can select individual users or entire groups.

Your portfolio is not visible outside your school. You can Invite Externals yourself. They are then allowed to see your portfolio.

Privacy-settings page template

A page template has almost the same privacy settings as a regular page. However, it is not possible to set a template to draft mode. The following options are available (depending on your school's settings):

• Visible to students and teachers in my groups / Visible to students and teachers in my school: With this option, the page is visible to everyone within your school, or visible to all students and teachers in the group(s) you are also in.
  • If you enable the toggle for Set as homepage, this page will be active under Home.
• Visible only to my reviewer(s): With this option, the page is only visible once it has been submitted as part of an assignment. At that point, only the reviewer(s) of that assignment will be able to view the page. Otherwise, the page remains private.
• Visible only for teachers / Visible only for my teachers: With this option, the page you create is visible only to all teachers at the school, or to the teachers you are in a class group with.
• Visible only for teachers and people and groups I choose myself: With this option, in addition to the teachers at your school, you can also select a number of people (such as a fellow student or your internship supervisor).
