Privacy-settings work and pages

When you save an item in your portfolio or create a page, you can set its privacy. This allows you to specify who is allowed to view the item or page.

The school determines which setting is checked by default here. You can always make a different choice.

Privacy-settings Work item

The privacy settings determine who can view your workitem. Depending on the settings being active for your school, the following options are available:

  • Only for me: The work is visible only to you. Anyone who navigates to your portfolio will not see this work.
  • Everyone in my school / Everyone in my groups: The work will be visible for all users.
  • Reviewer(s) from the assignment: With this option, the page is only visible once it has been submitted as part of an assignment. At that point, only the reviewer(s) of that assignment will be able to view the page. Otherwise, the page remains private.
  • Teachers in my school / Teachers in my groups: The work will be visible for all teachers.
  • These people or groups: Choose who you want to share the work with. You can select individual users or entire groups.

Do you want to prevent an item from being shared in the Community? Then choose one of the following settings:

  • Only for me
  • The reviewer(s) of the assignment
  • Specific individuals or groups

For the other options, the message will be shared in the Community.

Privacy-settings pages

The privacy settings determine who can view your page. Depending on the settings being active for your school, the following options are available:

  • Only for me: The page is visible only to you. Anyone who navigates to your portfolio will not see this page.
  • Teachers in my school / Teachers in my groups: The page is visible to all teachers and students who are in a group that you are also part of. If you are unsure who is in a group you belong to, navigate to the groups module and view the groups you are in. Or the page is visible to all teachers and students in your school.
  • These people or groups: Choose who you want to share the work with. You can select individual users or entire groups.
  • These people or groups, and my teachers: Choose who you want to share the work with. You can select individual users or entire groups, but the teachers will also be able to view the pages.

Your portfolio is not visible outside your school. You can Invite Externals yourself. They are then allowed to see your portfolio.

Privacy-settings page template

A page template has almost the same privacy settings as a regular page. However, it is not possible to set a template to draft mode. The following options are available (depending on your school's settings):

  • Everyone in my school / Everyone in my groups: With this option, the page is visible to everyone within your school, or visible to all students and teachers in the group(s) you are also in.
    • If you enable the toggle for Set as homepage, this page will be active under Home.
  • Reviewer(s) from the assignment: With this option, the page is only visible once it has been submitted as part of an assignment. At that point, only the reviewer(s) of that assignment will be able to view the page. Otherwise, the page remains private.
  • Teachers in my school / Teachers in my groups: With this option, the page you create is visible only to all teachers at the school, or to the teachers you are in a class group with.
  • These people or groups, and my teachers: Choose who you want to share the work with. You can select individual users or entire groups, but the teachers will also be able to view the pages.
