Group overview

From the Administrator module, as an administrator, you can access all groups. You can:

  • View groups that you are not a member of.
  • Edit, archive, or delete groups.
  • Copy groups.
  • View what percentage of users within a group have logged in this school year.
  • Determine which groups can log in.

The ability to determine which groups can log in depends on the settings in your environment. If your school has a school license, this option will not be available.

Login Percentage per Group

You can easily see what percentage of the users in each group have logged in this school year. The percentages behind the users (per role) show how many users have logged in this school year. It is not possible to see who has logged in and who has not. However, this can be checked from the User overview using filtering.

Edit a group

Groups can be easily modified. Click on the blue square and then click Edit next to a group. Groups that have been imported or created manually can be fully edited.

When a group is automatically synced through the nightly synchronization, editing is not possible. The group can:

  • Be moved to another location to set up your own structure.
  • Searchable: Checking the Searchable box ensures that this is the highest level that can be searched by underlying groups in the community. This group and all underlying groups can search/find updates from each other in the community.
  • Visible: Checking the Visible box ensures that this is the highest level that will be visible to underlying groups in the community stream. This group and all underlying groups can see updates from each other in the community.

Archive a group

You can archive an individual group or an entire group structure, such as when closing out a year. Select the Archive option to archive a group. If you choose to archive a main group, all underlying groups will also be archived. When a group is archived, the following happens:

  • Users will no longer see the group in their group overview.
  • Links to the group will also be archived, meaning student assignments may no longer be visible.

After a group is archived, the following actions can still be taken:

  • Unarchive: The group will become active again, and the links will be reactivated.
  • Delete: When a group is deleted, all links will be permanently removed.

Groups that are synced through the nightly synchronization cannot be deleted. These groups will automatically be set to archived if the group is no longer included in the synchronization.

Copy a group

Individual groups can be copied. Choose the Copy option. The entire group will then be duplicated. This makes it easy to add a new program or create a new group structure.

When copying groups, the settings of the group are carried over, but not the students and teachers. The copied structure does not contain any users.

Giving specific groups access to Simulise

If the setting is enabled for your school, it is possible to restrict access to Simulise to selected groups. Expand the main group and check the box under Students can log in next to the groups that should have access.
