Role and Rights
In Simulise, we recognize three different roles: Student, Teacher, and External. Students and teachers are imported into Simulise separately, either through nightly synchronization or via manual import. Externals must be created manually within Simulise.
By default, no user has extra permissions. Simulise ensures that there is always someone with administrator rights in each environment. Administrators have the ability to assign permissions to other users. Permissions can be assigned as follows:
- Navigate to the management module.
- Select the Users module.
- Find the user to whom you want to grant permissions.
- Click on the user and go to the Roles and Rights table.
- Enable the desired permissions and select Save.
Moderator | Moderators can make changes to comments in the community and delete posts. This role is intended for students or teachers responsible for managing the community. |
Administrator | The administrator manages the entire school environment. Multiple administrators can be assigned, but we recommend keeping the number limited to maintain clarity on who has made changes. Administrators can log in as other users, adjust environment settings, and edit or delete all items in the library. Avoid using shared administrator accounts with standard usernames and passwords, as this makes it difficult to trace who made specific changes. |
Skill author | Skills authors can create competencies/skills and develop skills diagrams. Without this role, instructors can only use existing skills to link to rubrics. |
Rubric author | Rubric authors can create rubrics and make them available in the school's library. Without this role, you cannot create rubrics but can still use existing rubrics, for example, to link to an assignment. |
Assignment author | Assignment authors can create assignments and make them available in the school's library. Without this role, you can only distribute assignments created by others. |
Page template author | Page template authors can create templates and distribute them to users. Without this role, you can only distribute templates that have already been created. |
